Jesus at the Center of Your Miracle

ree

Mark 9 tells the story of a desperate father bringing his tormented son to Jesus. What unfolds reveals more than just a healing—it exposes what it means to keep Jesus at the center of your miracle.

When the demonic spirit sees Jesus, it throws the boy into convulsions. Jesus doesn’t immediately address the spirit. Instead, He speaks to the father: "How long has this been happening to him?" In that moment, Jesus honors the father’s authority and pain before confronting the chaos.

The father replies, “If you can do anything, have compassion on us.” Jesus responds, “‘If you can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.” Jesus isn’t questioning Himself—He’s inviting the father into faith.

And then, the most honest prayer in Scripture: "I believe. Help my unbelief."

That’s where many of us live—between faith and fear, hope and hesitation. And Jesus doesn’t rebuke the father’s mixture of belief and doubt. He moves in compassion and power.

When Jesus casts out the spirit, the boy falls like a corpse. The crowd says, “He’s dead.” But Jesus takes him by the hand, lifts him up, and restores him fully. It wasn’t the father’s perfect faith, the crowd’s support, or the boy’s will—it was Jesus alone.

What does it mean to keep Jesus at the center of your miracle? It doesn’t mean avoiding doctors or counselors or help. Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:23 to use a little wine for his stomach. Healing can be practical and supernatural. But the key is who you turn to first.

Before Google. Before your group chat. Before your doctor. Turn to Jesus. Ask Him, "How do you want to move?"

God heals in different ways—instantly, progressively, or through process. What matters is your posture. Are you willing to wait on His voice? Are you building your faith on experience or on the Word?

Cessationism—the belief that miracles ceased—is a lie. The Bible is a supernatural book. From Genesis to Revelation, we see a miracle-working God. He hasn’t changed.

If Jesus is at the center, then we must:

  1. Stand on the Word – Internalize it. Meditate on it. Find scriptures that speak directly to your situation. Read different translations. Let the Word become part of you.

  2. Declare the Word – Faith comes by hearing. Speak His promises over your situation. Not vague hope—specific, Spirit-led declarations.

  3. Pray the Word – Let it move from your head to your heart. Wait on God. Dialogue with Him. Don’t rush the moment.

The promise of God is greater than your problem. When you focus on the problem, you spiral—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance of dysfunction. But when you focus on the promise, you receive revelation, alignment, rest, and renewal.

Jesus is capable. He’s available. And—this is the part many struggle with—He’s willing.

You may feel unworthy, like you brought this on yourself. But God is not intimidated by your sin. He moves toward the broken. He heals lepers, forgives sinners, and draws near to the hurting.

The miracle isn’t earned. It’s received by faith.

It’s not wrong to name your problem. But don’t stop there—attach a promise to it. Speak it. Believe it. Rest in it.

You were never meant to live in defeat, despair, or delay. Jesus is at the center. And when He is, everything changes.

So find the promise. Declare it. Pray it. Rest in it. And watch your miracle unfold—not by your strength, but by His Word. He's already provided.
