Jesus Marks Children—And What He Does Lasts
I want to second what Tyler said about your children: God marks kids. I was first touched by the Lord at seven years old—so tangibly that I ran to my mom and said, “Jesus told me He has something for me to do.” She smiled and said, “One day, He’ll tell you.” That moment branded my heart. What God does in a child isn’t temporary—it’s eternal.
We’ve seen that across the world. Children born mute have spoken in Jesus’ name—a seven-year-old, a nine-year-old, even a 35-year-old who had never spoken a day in her life. Tongues loosed. Words released. Most of those miracles? Kids.
“He sent out His word and healed them” (Psalm 107:20, ESV).
You don’t have to wait for the end of a service to receive from God. The Healer is in the room. Reach up and say, “Lord, I receive.”
Testimony: From Addiction to an Upper-Room Life
Life is real, and it happens to all of us. When I was ten, my family walked through public pain and I ran hard in the opposite direction—addicted to opiates, violent, in and out of jail. But I had a praying mom. One night she changed her prayer: “Lord, he’s Yours. Go get him.” Within a week, driving at 3 a.m., the love of God wrapped me like a coat. I pulled over weeping and said, “Jesus, if You’re real, my life is Yours.”
Did I wake up instantly perfect? No. But within six months, I was free. Then I started reading Acts. Ordinary fishermen hid in fear until the Holy Spirit filled them. After that, they turned the world upside down (cf. Acts 17:6). I got on my knees: “Baptize me in the Holy Spirit. Give me a tongue that scares the devil.” Three nights of praying—nothing. Then, walking to my front door after work, I whispered, “Thank You, Jesus,” and the power of God hit me to the ground for four hours. He emptied anger and shame—and filled me with power. I got up speaking in tongues and preaching Jesus.
I’m not Pentecostal by paperwork; I’m Pentecostal by baptism. Jesus takes the most unqualified and makes them carriers of His presence.
The Word Preached—and Confirmed
Text: Mark 16:15–20 (ESV)“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel… these signs will accompany those who believe… they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover… And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.”
Key insight: Jesus doesn’t promise to confirm our personalities; He confirms His Word. When we preach the gospel—whether that’s sharing Scripture or your own Jesus story—He backs it.
This is the pattern: Word → Boldness → Signs. Not signs, then boldness—boldness, then signs. When the lame man at the Beautiful Gate walked (Acts 3), the city shook—not because Peter gave a clever three-point talk, but because the gospel came with demonstration. Then Peter preached, and thousands believed.
Jesus Reigns—and His Name Rules
After speaking, Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19). That’s not a detail; it’s the engine. The right hand is the seat of power (Psalm 110:1). Every enemy is under His feet (Ephesians 1:19–23). And His name is above every name—in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:9–11).
So whatever name has been spoken over you—cancer, depression, diabetes, addiction—there is a higher Name. When you pray in Jesus’ name, heaven moves, earth responds, and hell trembles.
“Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4, ESV).
Seated With Christ: Your Position, Your Assignment
Here’s the part most believers underestimate:
“God… raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”(Ephesians 2:4–6, ESV)
If Jesus is seated above every power, and you are seated with Him, then your prayers and proclamations carry His delegated authority. You’re not begging from below; you’re agreeing from above. All authority that is His is entrusted to you for His mission.
Boldness Paints a Target for Power
Acts 4 gives the church’s prayer after being told to stop speaking in Jesus’ name:
“Lord… grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while You stretch out Your hand to heal…” (Acts 4:29–31, ESV).
How did God answer? He filled them with boldness—because signs follow the Word. Your job: believe and be bold. His job: confirm His Word.
What We’ve Seen God Do
We’ve witnessed the crippled walk, the deaf hear, tumors disappear—one four-year-old in Tanzania literally expelled a tumor while the word was being preached. Is that messy? Sometimes. But Jesus is our healer—for children and adults. And the greatest miracle? A new heart. Salvation changes everything from the inside out.
How to Respond Today
ReceiveYou don’t have to wait. Whisper, “Jesus, I receive what You purchased for me.” Healing is “the children’s bread” (cf. Matthew 15:26). It was paid for at the cross.
Repent & BelieveTurn from self-rule to Jesus’ lordship. Say yes to the gospel—the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus for you.
Be BoldShare your story. Lay hands on the sick. Pray in Jesus’ name. Expect Him to confirm His Word.
A Simple Prayer
Jesus, I believe You are alive and Your name is above every name. I receive what You purchased for me—healing in my body, freedom in my mind, and boldness in my spirit. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Make me a witness. As I speak Your Word, confirm it with signs and wonders—for Your glory. Amen.
